RAUZEUG Handgun Trolley

A good, sturdy gun transport case is the dream of many, including us. Ideally, it should also be modular, as the setup of the weapon often changes, or one simply wants to transport more or less. The RAUZEUG offers the Short Weapons Trolley Set, which can be the perfect companion. We took a detailed look at it.

General

The Short Weapons Trolley Set is essentially the protective case RT550 from RAUZEUG with a very practical interior. The case measures approximately 55 x 35 x 22 cm on the outside and is made of polypropylene (PP).

In addition to the case, the set includes the RT550 DIY Insert, the Organizer Cubes, and two of the 1-Pistol Inserts. So it has everything you need to transport two pistols safely.

Interior

Inside, the case measures 496 x 305 x 198 mm (LxWxH). As you can see, we have adapted the interior to our needs. Only one Pistol Insert, but enough space for some ammo, the gun sling, and additional accessories. And yes, in Austria, ammunition may be transported in the same container as the firearm.

The Pistol Insert provides space for one pistol and up to six magazines. Magazines with extended base plates, like those from FTCS, fit perfectly as well. It is flawlessly made and feels very high-quality.

Pistols with slim weapon lights, meaning not wider than the slide, fit perfectly, and cutouts for optics have also been considered.

Unfortunately, a classic Surefire light does not fit into the Pistol Insert.

The Pistol Insert also fits nicely into a classic tin ammo case with a little pressure, or into the plastic equivalent from PPD.

With the DIY Insert, we haven’t been particularly creative yet; we have only moved one separator.

The system is based on hollow walls held in place by metal brackets. A classic system that works very well. You can build your divisions as needed.

The Organizer Cubes are very practical. A net top with a two-way zipper allows for good access and visibility of the contents. On one side, there is a RAUZEUG rubber patch sewn on.

All three also have a carrying loop attached. The small and medium Organizer Cubes are lightly padded, thus providing additional protection.

The small cube also contains two additional net pockets.

Case

Now to the protective case itself. It is closed with a total of four buckles. Two on the side and one at the head and foot end. The color is termed olive green. It somewhat reminds us of MJK, which is a greenish khaki tone, very stylish.

Of course, locking holes for legal firearm transport in Germany should not be missing. All larger padlocks fit here.

Anyone who wants to carry the trolley can do so effortlessly. There is a sturdy carrying handle on the side. The pressure equalization valve is also easily visible.

On the top, there is another sturdy carrying handle.

Since rolling is always better than carrying, the RC550 features sturdy rubberized wheels with a diameter of about 8 cm. Thanks to the rubber, the case rolls relatively quietly, at least quieter than many cases you usually hear rolling around.

Of course, the retractable pull handle must not be missing. This can be locked in two positions and feels very stable. Pulling the case along is truly a pleasure.

Conclusion

We were very impressed by the RAUZEUG large pistol trolley set. A sturdy stackable case along with a very useful, customizable interior. So far, everything shows only minimal signs of use, even though we haven't been particularly gentle with it. You can fit everything you need for a trip to the range into the case. We will, of course, continue to test the set and report back to you at a later time; reviews just take time.
