REVIEW:

UF PRO P-40 Responder Shirt

09/04/2026By Spencer

One heatwave follows another, so short sleeves are certainly welcome. Luckily, there is the UF PRO P-40 Responder Shirt, for everyone who is allowed or wants to wear short sleeves. In this review, we take a closer look at it.

Front view of the shirt in Stone Grey-Olive and size Medium, just as we usually wear the shirts from UF Pro. The cut is as expected from UF PRO, athletic and exactly the same as their other Combat Shirt tops. The shirt consists of two parts. The upper body is made of a mix of 92 percent polyester and 8 percent elastane. This is also used in the Striker TT and Striker XT Gen3 Combat Shirt. The shoulder area is made of 67 percent polyester and 33 percent cotton ripstop.

Back view. The shoulder area is the same as the other models in terms of coverage with PolyCo ripstop. It's as if one took a Combat Shirt and cut off the sleeves.

However, it's not that simple. Whether using a plate carrier or body armor, thanks to integrated shoulder pads, it is very comfortable to wear. More on that later.

At the front, there is a zipper for good ventilation and easy putting on.

On both sides of the sleeves, there is of course a Velcro area, with a slot for about a pen.

There is also a large pocket for notepads and similar items located there.

Under the armpits, there is no other fabric that sometimes appears in other models.

On the hips are padding again to better distribute the load and prevent pressure points.

Once the inside is turned outside, you can see the shoulder area and sleeves. In the shoulder area, there is a smaller shoulder pad than usual, although the pocket is as large as usual. Here, one could probably unpick the limiting seams for the little pad and insert a larger one. The small one also serves its purpose for light loads. The sleeve contains washing instructions and additional information.

Here is another close-up. The quality of UF PRO is, as usual, very high and good. Everywhere where the fabric changes between ripstop and the upper body fabric, there are double seams. There are also double seams at the sleeve ends, which are all flat to avoid pressure points.

CONCLUSION: Long overdue and finally it is here. The short version in the usual good UF PRO quality means you no longer have to cut off the sleeves of your old shirts and can secure a bit more vitamin D in summer. This shirt will certainly be seen more often on the range or with emergency services, as it is a practical piece that also cools when worn.

Currently, the shirt is available in the colors Black, Stone Grey-Olive, Steel Gray, and Navy Blue for 125 euros. You can find the UF PRO P-40 Responder Shirt HERE directly at UF PRO.
